Big Earth Publishing: A Catalog Archive

Big Earth Publishing worked out of Boulder, Colorado, publishing and distributing books tied to the region: landscape photography, hiking guides, nature writing, and outdoor recreation across the Rocky Mountains and beyond.

Its list came together through several imprints, each with its own focus. Westcliffe Publishers put out Colorado landscape photography and hiking guides. Johnson Books covered nature, archaeology, and regional history across Colorado and the Southwest. Trails Books and Prairie Oak Press handled outdoor recreation in the Midwest, mostly Wisconsin paddling, camping, and trail guides. Bleak House Books and Intrigue Press rounded things out with mystery and suspense fiction.

The company is no longer active. This site exists to keep a record of what it published, organized by imprint, for anyone trying to track down a title or trace where a book came from.
